Are you a ‘Service Area Business?’
A quick check in about Google My Business for you all prompted by a couple of convos with people this week.
If you are a dog walker or trainer and go and see people at their location eg. You do NOT have people coming to your house – which will be about 99% of you then you should have a red radius map showing and not a pin on the map with a mini streetview of your house.
You are classed as a ‘service area business’ or SAB and yes even with the pin removed and the highlighted area showing Google absolutely knows where you are and will show your business to the right people.
Please see pics below for right and wrong examples.
If you have a location that people visit eg a shop, or a venue for classes and you are verified at that location then please do keep your pin on the map.
If yours is wrong you’ll need to pop into your GMB dashboard and update the settings in the ‘info’ section, making sure that your areas are correct whilst you are there.
Warning story: a dog trainer I know had theirs set to the wrong way around and had people arrive on her doorstep to help fix their dog at 8pm on a Saturday!
Any questions, give me a shout 🙂
