How to change from ChatGPT to Claude using Chantelle’s easy to follow course.

How to Switch from ChatGPT to Claude using Chantelle's easy to follow course.

Have you been thinking about changing from ChatGPT to Claude?

I’ve been using ChatGPT for a while, and for ages, it was fine. But lately the output has felt increasingly generic. Like it’s trying to sound impressive rather than actually be useful. I was spending more time editing and tweaking than I would have if I’d just done the thing myself.

So when I started hearing more about Claude, and when the whole Trump/Pentagon/OpenAI situation made me raise an eyebrow, I decided to test drive Claude on the free version.

I asked Claude what made it different, and the main thing for me was the critical thinking, rather than just the ‘agreeing with everything’ and ‘every idea is amazing’ output from CGPT. Using the free version helped me compare the two outputs and Claude was winning by a mile.

I decided it was time to make the move, but I was a bit like, ‘Oh god, I’m gonna lose EVERYTHING from CGPT that I’ve built and have to start again.’ which was a DRAINING thought.

Until I saw copywriter Chantelle Davison’s course. Chantelle is a trusted source for me, I’ve been following her for a long time, and she is also local!

I bought Chantelle’s course and set aside a day to go through it all. Well, I didn’t even need the day, just a couple of hours, and I was set up, running, and genuinely a little mind-blown.

What makes Claude different from ChatGPT?

Claude isn’t just a different chatbot. It’s a different way of working altogether. Here’s what stood out:

Projects keep everything organised. You can create dedicated spaces for different areas of your business, with documents, briefs, and context permanently loaded. No more re-explaining yourself every single time.

Skills are reusable workflows you build once and run forever. Instead of typing out the same instructions repeatedly, you set up a skill and trigger it with a simple phrase. It’s the difference between working harder and working smarter.

Your voice, your values, your standards can all be baked in from the start. Claude actually holds them, consistently, across everything it produces.

What happened when I made the switch

I spent one afternoon getting properly set up and by the end of it I was producing work I’d genuinely be proud to put in front of a client. No hours of tweaking. No AI waffle I’m slightly embarrassed by. Just proper, usable output that sounds like me.

The thing that excited me most was realising that once you’ve built a workflow, you can run it for every client, every project, every time. That’s not just a time saver. That’s a genuine upgrade to what you deliver.

Should you switch from ChatGPT to Claude?

If you’ve been on ChatGPT for a while and you’ve noticed the output getting a bit meh, yes. If you want AI that actually sounds like you rather than every other business on the internet, yes. If the idea of setting it all up from scratch makes you want to lie down, also yes, because that’s exactly why Chantelle’s course exists.

What am I enjoying most about Claude?

I’ll keep this updated as I use Claude more:

It’s the quality of the output that I’m finding much better. I’m using it for project work, and there’s much less ‘fluff’ (as a CGPT would say) to edit out. What’s REALLY awesome for me is the project folders and the creation of ‘skills’ to do repeated things. I didn’t and won’t be using it to write social posts; I’m a firm believer in writing them for myself.

I’ll keep testing, but so far, I’m really impressed. On the free version, I did some business brainstorming, going over ideas, and it was WAY more critical in a good way, so I’m looking forward to inspiration striking and using my WUF project to work through ideas.

Add in custom styles and the Chrome extension, and I’m seeing WAY more potential for future use than with CGPT.

Claude feels like more of a proper business team member than ChatGPT did.

For those who like organising and systems, I feel a LOT more in control of things than I did with CGPT.

Frequently Asked Questions About Switching to Claude

How much does Claude Pro cost?

Claude Pro is £20 a month. There’s no annual option currently, it’s a rolling monthly subscription or you can save a bit and go yearly. You can cancel any time.

How does Claude’s usage limit work?

Claude Pro uses a rolling five-hour session window rather than a fixed daily limit. The amount you can do within that window depends on the length and complexity of your conversations; longer chats use more of your allowance per message because Claude reprocesses the whole conversation each time. So starting fresh conversations regularly, rather than one very long one, helps stretch your usage further.

When does Claude’s usage reset?

There’s no single reset moment, it’s a rolling window. If you hit your limit, your earliest messages start freeing up around five hours after you sent them. So it’s not like waiting until midnight it gradually tops back up.

Does usage reset faster at certain times of day?

During weekday peak hours 1pm to 7pm you’ll move through your session limits faster than at other times of day. Your weekly total stays the same, but heavy usage is best shifted to evenings or weekends if you want to stretch things further.

Can I buy more usage if I run out?

Yes, if you hit your usage limit, you can purchase extra usage rather than waiting for it to reset or upgrading your plan. It’s a pay-as-you-go top-up.

Is there a free version of Claude?

Yes, there’s a free plan but it has lower usage limits and doesn’t include all the features, Projects and Skills in particular are where the Pro plan really earns its money. For casual use the free plan is fine, but if you’re using it for work you’ll want Pro.

Is Claude better than ChatGPT?

Honestly, it depends what you need it for. For business owners who want AI that sounds like them, holds context across projects, and produces genuinely usable output without hours of tweaking, in my experience, yes. That’s why I switched.

Do I need to be techy to set Claude up properly?

Absolutely not, and that’s exactly why Chantelle’s course exists. She’s a copywriter who set it all up herself and teaches it without any tech-bro jargon. I did it in one afternoon.
